Tamil Nadu NEET MBBS Counselling 2018 has been started now. NEET is a national level medical entrance examination organized by the CBSE board for providing admission in MBBS & BDS courses. There is no state level exam is organized for admission into these courses. In the state of Tamil Nadu, counselling for 85% seats will be regulated by the Selection Committee, Directorate of Medical Education. After qualifying the NEET exam, candidates have to participate in the counselling process to get admission. MCC (Medical Council Committee) will organize the counselling only for the 15% AIQ seats. Counselling for another 85% state quota will be administrated by the respective state authorities. To participate in Tamilnadu NEET counselling candidates have to fill the separate counselling application form. Seat allotment will be given based on the rank, filled choices, category and availability of seats.

Tamil Nadu MBBS BDS Counselling 2018 

  • Tamil Nadu MBBS 2018 counselling will be held in offline mode.
  • The counselling will most likely be held on a separate date for special category candidates.
  • The candidates will be eligible to attend the counselling session for Tamil Nadu MBBS 2018 if they have secured the minimum percentile in the NEET 2018 examination and completed the process of filling up of the application form.
  • The authorities will publish a merit list of the eligible candidates who will be able to attend the Tamil Nadu MBBS counselling 2018.
  • Tamil Nadu MBBS 2018 counselling will take admissions based on the NEET 2018score and the preference of the candidates while filling up the online choices.

Tamil Nadu NEET MBBS BDS Counselling 2018 – Procedure

  • Candidates can check here the step-wise counselling procedure:

    Application Filling:

    • To participate in the counselling process, candidates have to fill and submit the counselling application form.
    • Fill all the details carefully.
    • Candidates have to paste their photograph and put signature in the prescribed space.
    • After filling the application candidates required to send the application via speed post/courier to the address mentioned below:

    Application Fee:

    • Candidates have to submit the DD along with application form.
    • The application fee will be Rs. 500/-.
    • SC & ST candidates are exempted from the payment of application fee.
    • DD should be drawn in favor of “The Secretary, Selection Committee” Kilpauk, Chennai-10 payable at Chennai.

    Release of Merit List:

    • The merit list will be prepared on the basis of marks scored in the qualifying exam and NEET 2018 exam.
    • The merit list will be published through the website.
    • Students will be called for counselling according to their merit list.

    Choice Filling and Submission:

    • Candidates have to fill their choices at the time of counselling.
    • Candidates have to appear for counselling in person at the specified venue and date.
    • Candidates will be able to download their call letters from the website.

    Seat Allotment:

    • The allotment of seats will be done at the time of counselling.
    • Seat allotment will depend upon the filled choices and availability of seats.

    Reporting to the Allotted College:

    • Once the seat allotment is done, candidates are required to appear at the allotted college to confirm their seats.
    • Candidates have to bring the allotment letter and required fees and original documents at the allotted college.
    • Candidates have to go through the medical examination at their respective college.

About Tamil Nadu MBBS BDS Merit List 2018

The merit lists released on June 28, 2018, provide candidates their state merit ranks which will be utilized at the time of Tamil Nadu MBBS BDS counselling 2018. The candidates who have applied for government quota seats are also allotted a community merit rank. Candidates included in the merit list are eligible to participate in the counselling process. It should be noted that mere inclusion does not necessarily guarantee admission to government and private medical and dental colleges. The candidates who are included in the merit list must check the documents required for the counselling process. 


Tamil Nadu MBBS BDS Cutoff 2018

The candidates who have successfully filled the application form and are now eligible for the further rounds of Tamil Nadu MBBS BDS admission process can check the cutoff rank and score to know their chances of obtaining admission to the medical and dental colleges of the state. The cutoff rank signifies the last rank which obtained admission in the academic year 2017-18. The cutoff rank and score will be different for 15% All India Quota and 85% State Quota seats.

Highlights of Tamil Nadu MBBS BDS Merit List 2018
·         The merit list of Tamil Nadu MBBS 2018 will be released on June 28, 2018.
·         Tamil Nadu MBBS merit list 2018 will be collectively released for all the candidates who are eligible.
·         The candidates will not be individually informed about Tamil Nadu MBBS 2018 merit list.
·         The candidates included in the Tamil Nadu MBBS merit list 2018 will be able to attend the counselling process for Tamil Nadu MBBS 2018.
·         Candidates can take a print-out of the merit list of Tamil Nadu MBBS 2018 for future reference.

Tie-Breaker Criteria of Tamil Nadu MBBS BDS Merit List 2018
The criteria for tie-breaking of Tamil Nadu MBBS merit list 2018 will be used in case two or more candidates have obtained the same marks in the NEET 2018. The various parameters used by the authorities for tie-breaking in the merit list of Tamil Nadu MBBS BDS 2018 are as follows.
·         Candidates with higher marks in Biology in the NEET examination are given preference if there is a tie.
·         If the tie still persists, then the candidates with higher marks in Chemistry subject are given preference in the Tamil Nadu MBBS merit list 2018.
·         Candidates with lesser wrong answers in NEET will be given preference.
·         In case there is still a tie, then the candidate older in age is preferred.
The candidates whose names will be included in the Tamil Nadu MBBS BDS 2018 merit list are required to participate in the online choice filling process and subsequent counselling. The first round of counselling of Tamil Nadu MBBS 2018 will start from July 1 for Government Quota seats and July 7 for Management Quota seats.
